Studio Policies • 2026–2027 Season
Tuition Policy
-
Tuition is monthly and remains the same regardless of the number of classes in the month.

Payment Method: Only automatic credit card payments are accepted. Cash and checks are not accepted.

Due Date: Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Payments not received by 6pm on the 5th will be considered late.

Late Fees: If your payment is declined, you will be notified via email. Please update your card before the 5th to avoid a $15 late fee.

Refund and Class Change

To change classes, email admin@tdcoflosgatos.com. If space is available, your dancer can switch the following week.

No refunds after the first class.

Withdrawal: To withdraw from classes, email admin@tdcoflosgatos.com at least 2 weeks before the month you want to withdraw. If proper notice is not given, you will be charged for that month.

Missed Classes: There are no refunds or discounts for missed classes.

If you withdraw and later re-enroll in the same season, a $25 re-registration fee will apply.

Class Cancellations: If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund if no alternate class is available.
Attendance

Consistent attendance is required for optimal progress.

Attire: Proper dance attire is required. Hair should be in a bun for ballet and a ponytail for other classes.

Arrival: Arrive 10 minutes early. Dancers more than 15 minutes late may have their participation evaluated by the instructor.

No food, drinks, or gum in the studio or lobby (water is allowed).

Make-up Classes: Due to limited space, make-ups are not offered.

If a teacher misses a class and no substitute is found, the class will be rescheduled.
Showcase
-
Recital: TDC holds an end-of-year recital in May. All dancers participate, and 99% of them love performing with their classmates! Participation is optional.

Costumes: Ordered in February and delivered in spring. Charges apply in early March. No refunds after the March deadline.

Class Lock-In: Classes are "locked" in February to prepare for recital, so no changes after this time.

If you choose not to participate, notify the studio before the costume deadline.
Expectations

Dancers and parents are expected to show respect and courtesy to all instructors and students.
-
Positive behavior: Dancers should be encouraging and supportive of one another.
-
Social Media: Dancers must refrain from using social media or texting to bully, gossip, or embarrass others. Inappropriate language or harmful photos are not allowed.
Closed Door Policy

TDC maintains a Closed Door Policy during all classes to help students stay focused without distractions from parents, siblings, or friends.

Parents and observers may watch classes only during the first week of each month through the lobby viewing windows, provided it does not disrupt the class.

Only teachers and students are allowed inside the studio classrooms—no parents or visitors are permitted.
Brea Paillet
Brea Paillet — Owner & Director, The Dance Company of Los Gatos
Brea Paillet is the proud owner and director of The Dance Company of Los Gatos (TDC). With more than 30 years of dance and teaching experience, Brea has dedicated her career to inspiring young dancers and creating a studio where students can grow in confidence, technique, performance, and their love of dance.
A former San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleader, Brea brings professional performance and dance-team experience to her teaching and leadership. She has owned and operated TDC for more than 20 years, building a strong dance community in Los Gatos and providing dancers with opportunities to train, compete, perform, and learn from talented instructors and guest choreographers.
Brea is passionate about giving every dancer a place to belong—from recreational dancers taking their first class to competitive and performance-team dancers pursuing bigger goals. Her greatest joy is watching students grow up through the studio, develop confidence, and carry the friendships, discipline, and memories they made at TDC with them long after they leave the dance floor.

Meet Our Team
Brea Paillet — Owner & Director, The Dance Company of Los Gatos
Brea Paillet has been teaching dance for over 30 years and is the proud owner of The Dance Company of Los Gatos, which she has led for more than 20 years. With decades of experience, Brea has trained dancers of all ages and levels, creating a positive, inspiring, and high-quality dance environment for her students.
Under her direction, TDC has grown into an award-winning studio, earning numerous national titles and recognition for excellence in performance and training.
Brea’s background includes being a former NFL dancer, as well as holding titles such as Miss Los Altos and Miss Santa Clara. Her professional experience and passion for dance continue to shape her teaching style—focusing on technique, confidence, and performance.
She is dedicated to helping every dancer reach their full potential while building a strong, supportive dance family.
Jessica
Carlo comes to TDC with decades of dance and gymnastics training. Carlo trained under Keith Banks and then went on to perform in over 40 musicals with CMTSJ. Now, Carlo’s time is spent as the Site Director of Los Gatos Elite at West Valley. There he has had the privilege of training national champions in competitive gymnastics. Carlo brings his unique blend of dance technique with gymnastics technique to help dancers to achieve their acro goals using proven methods of high level gymnastics coaching.
Carlo
Adelyn (Addy) Nicholson is a professional ballet dancer and instructor from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She trained at Ballet Elite, DeCruz Ballet, SoFlo Ballet Academy, and Hollywood Ballet Academy before joining Charlottesville Ballet as a Trainee and later New Ballet as a Studio Company Apprentice. Throughout her career, she has performed in productions including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, and Firebird. Adelyn also earned 1st Place Overall for her self-choreographed work at the 2024 Dance Open America Grand Prix Finals. She is passionate about sharing her love of ballet and helping dancers build strong technique, confidence, and artistry.
